Tony Conza, Blimpie’s founder, had a big American Dream and a simple restaurant idea: pile the finest meats, cheeses and toppings on freshly baked bread right in front of the customer. It was an idea ahead of its time.

Tony knew back then what so many people know now – the customer wants sandwiches that are good, fresh, quick, and built their way. The first Blimpie submarine sandwich restaurant opened on April 4, 1964. Since then, Blimpie has expanded across the country and around the world.

Our recipe for success, however, is the same today as it was when Conza launched the company back in 1964. We serve up fresh-sliced subs with a passion. Each Blimpie store is much more than just a sandwich franchise – it’s a community fixture, a neighborhood hang-out spot, and the local deli. Customers come to Blimpie expecting more than just a quick lunch – they want the best-tasting sub in town served by a passionate and community-focused local business owner. And that’s what our franchisees deliver – just like Tony did in 1964!

We’ve grown a lot in 50 years and we’re thrilled to be a part of the Kahala family.
